An update from Jonathan Lord about the RMT Strike

Jonathan Lord

Jonathan Lord believes that the current strikes taking place on South Western Railway are completely unnecessary and a disgraceful disruption of services to all those train users who rely on them.

He has written to the relevant parties urging a resumption of talks and an immediate end to the strike.

Jonathan fully supports the pledge in the Conservative Manifesto that we will require that a minimum service operates during transport strikes.  Rail workers deserve a fair deal, but it is not fair to let the trade unions undermine the livelihoods of others.

Further background to what has caused this strike can be found here:  https://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-news/south-western-railway-stri…
