Jonathan was selected as the Parliamentary Candidate for Woking at an Open Primary in September 2009. At the General Election in May 2010 he was elected to Parliament with a substantial majority and more than 50% of the vote.
Since being elected, Jonathan has settled in to his role in parliament and he and his family have moved permanently to Woking. His first years in parliament have seen him pass his own Private Members' Bill through Parliament as well as become an assiduous local MP, helping local people with many different issues. He led the fight to save Woking Courthouse and has been active in pushing for a better postal service in Woking.
Jonathan supports the Conservative administration on Woking Borough Council and believes its policies of keeping council tax low while maintaining all front line services and grants to voluntary groups are the right ones for Woking. As well as being MP for Woking Borough, Jonathan also represents the Guildford wards of Normandy and Pirbright, which are part of the Woking Constituency.
Jonathan has a background in advertising, marketing and technology and is a former Director of Saatchi & Saatchi. He is married to Caroline, who grew up in this part of Surrey, and they have a son John and a daughter Katherine.
Surgery appointments need to be arranged through Jonathan's office. Once he has looked into your issue, you may then be asked to call the Woking Constituency office for a Friday appointment on 01483 773384 or via email here. But please don't do this until you have spoken to Jonathan's office first.
