Woking's Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Jonathan Lord received a boost to his campaign this week when top public affairs agency Insight highlighted him as among 32 of its most notable new faces from all parties standing for Parliament.
Jonathan, who was selected in September 2009, joins other Conservative candidates on the list including Stephen Phillips QC, who was also a finalist at the Woking Open Primary. Jonathan's political career includes being deputy leader of Westminster City Council and helping Anne Milton win back the Guildford parliamentary seat.
"Lord looks set to sweep into Westminster come the next election", read the agency's assessment of Jonathan's prospects in Woking, although Jonathan himself is taking nothing for granted. "Obviously it's great to be included in things like this," he said. "But the most important thing for me is to be out there in the constituency listening to people and that's what I'm concentrating on doing."
